My Oceans Series may remind you of something you’ve seen or they may remind you of nothing you’ve seen, but rather something you’ve felt before. The point isn’t the similarity to something seen: these are not portraits of the ocean. These paintings depict how the ocean makes me feel, rather than how it looks. That is the vital part, the soul of these paintings – the effect of so much blue, such expanse, so much latent power.
