Navigating a Creative Life After a Life-Altering Disability

So it’s been a while…

I’ve been learning to deal with my severe disability for the past 5+ years and while I can’t paint anymore (hopefully down the road), I realized I can create in fiber while laying in bed. So in 2017 I taught myself to crochet and have been making everything from hats and toys, shawls, scarves, clothing, to blankets, etc.

I donate much of what I make to charities like Domestic Violence Shelters, Homeless Shelters, and Pine Ridge Reservation – by far the poorest place in the US. I also use a portion of my sales to purchase more supplies (yarn & shipping costs are expensive!) to make even more items for charity.

If you’d like to donate supplies directly to me you can do so here:
https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3HB5K4JHTQSYZ?ref_=wl_share

(Since prices on Amazon are changing all the time and some might not want to support them, you might be able to find the same items cheaper in your local craft store – in which case feel free to ask for my mailing address)  or you can send me money for supplies here: http://paypal.me/DoniaLilly)

And I finally set up a direct shopping function on my site, so you can buy original art as well as prints and my crochet items directly via the tabs in the top menu. If you see something you like but want it in a different color or size (or have an idea of something you’d like to commission) please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Here are some examples of what I’ve made in the past:

I hope everyone is staying safe during these bizarre times.
